Richard Sandzimier

Richard Sandzimier

Mr. Sandzimier has been a resident of Orange County for more than 30 years. His professional life includes over 25 years of experience in community, transportation and strategic planning that straddles both the public and private sector. He is presently the Senior Planning Manager for the engineering firm of Parsons Brinckerhoff, in their Orange County office. He is a long standing member of American Planning Association and the Urban Land Institute. He is a graduate of the University of California (Irvine) and has served as a guest lecturer and speaker at the University of California (Irvine) School of Social Ecology, and as a panelist for the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Women Transportation Seminar, and Urban Land Institute events.

Rick has served as a Planning and Transportation Commissioner for the City of Mission Viejo, California for the past six years, and has served as board member on the Orange County Workforce Investment Board for the past 2 1/2 years.

Rick and his wife of 20 years, Kim, have four children ranging from 10 years old to 18, and have been residents of the City of Mission Viejo since 1994. Rick is a supporter of the recreation and community event programs available in the City. He has regularly participated as a coach and manager for little league, soccer and football teams over the years, and is a regular participant and supporter of the Mission Viejo Annual Walk Against Drugs, and Relay for Life.
